Jaime May is the man behind code_may. I began building websites in 2009 and quickly found that people often need an honest, competent developer to help them out of a jam. The pseudonym “code_may” was born from combining “mayday” (the all too often call for help from folks in need) and “code” because I used code to rescue them. And the tie-in with my last name just made it the perfect fit.
Ever since I have been building websites, fixing websites, working on teams to design and develop websites and software. Any and all web related projects to help people expand and improve their businesses and personal endeavors online.
Website & Software
I’ve been specializing in building custom WordPress websites for 15 years, although I’ve also had many opportunities to work with other platforms. However, sometimes an out-of-the-box platform isn’t enough for a particular client. In those cases I work with the them to design and build a custom platform or software tailored for their specific needs.
My ultimate goal when working with a client to create their website is to determine their specific needs and then design and produce a website that meets or exceeds their expectations.
SEO & Internet Marketing
Our world continues to become more and more reliant on web based platforms. Many of these platforms can be beneficial to businesses, small and large, in marketing, promotion, infrastructure, sales, etc.
I’ve spent the last several years honing my skills at being able to determine the needs of my clients to recommend and setup the right systems for them. Sometimes this requires designing and building custom infrastructure systems. Not only so they can focus more on servicing their clients or selling their products, but also so they can scale their businesses more efficiently and with less overhead.
Some Websites I’ve Built
Jonas Blade & Metalworks
This client is a bladesmith based in New Hampshire who recently attained the status of Master Smith from the American Bladesmith Society and was looking for an update to his website and a better way to sell his creations online. The design was focused on educating visitors and funneling them easily to the array of custom knives available for purchase.
Nelson Company P.C.
A Portland Area tax firm reached out needing some help updating their branding and website. I brought in a designer to help them with the rebranding and some web design and we put together this phenomenal upgrade for the online presence.
Sara May Photography
This client is a photographer in the Portland, OR area who needed a better method of presenting galleries to prospective clients. This site was designed to focus around showcasing her amazing photography and help capture prospective clients.
